The driver of a vehicle with a license plate that appears to have been stolen in Maine has filed a police report claiming it was stolen by an unidentified person.
According to the complaint, the plate was recovered on July 10 in the parking lot of a convenience store in Bangor, Maine.
The owner told police he was trying to find the plate after his car was vandalized in Bangors parking lot on July 9.
He claimed he then saw a woman with a plate bracket on a car at a gas station in Bangards parking lot.
The woman then reportedly stole the car and drove away.
The woman was arrested the next day, but was released without charges after posting $10,000 bail.
The car, a Toyota Highlander, was then towed to Bangor Police Department where the plates were recovered.
Police say they are investigating the case.
