‘River plate’ is a popular Indian car license plate with a unique inscription on the plate that reads, ‘R.O.L.’
The symbol, which translates as ‘River Life’, has been widely adopted as an emblem of the Indian diaspora.
The new plate is expected to fetch around Rs 3 crore ($5.4 million) from the market.
However, it could be worth less as the Indian government has already announced it will spend Rs 2.9 lakh crore for the National Flag Roadshow that starts in 10 days time.
It will also announce a new National Highway Development Scheme.
The National Flag Roadsshow will be the second such event since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government came to power.
It is scheduled to be held in the capital, New Delhi, from November 19.
The first National Flag roadshow was held in October, attracting over 7 million visitors and saw Prime Minister Modi deliver a speech on the occasion.
Sources said the new plate will have the words ‘ROB’ in large lettering on the side and will have a decorative panel on the back of the plate.
It will be sold at the auction and it will be available to anyone who wants to adopt it.
